These cats seem to understand on a spiritual level that they are the living embodiment of Yin & Yang, although I am sure that Smudge at times can be something less than purity and light, and Moses has a very postive outlook on his life, nothing too dark here. I have been amazed at how many other blogs use Cat Friday pics and comments. Perhaps one of these days I will do some research and figure out some numbers.
The musical clip, ChakraSuite1@ 3:10 was a liberal dose of the East, and what a tremendous backstory this one has, kelphistos! Alex received an email from one Thakur Chakrapari Singh, in New Delhi, India. He has been monitoring her website, and loved her music, and wanted to do a collaborative piece. So he pre-recorded a piece on his 32-string veena, and Alex did the rest, including some 6-string guitar riffs. She wrote at one point, “When I first heard Chakrapani’s raga I was struck by his sprinklings of major triad chords and jazz fusion style syncopated rhythms. Yet I doubt he knew that his raga also laid very well as an all out solo over a twelve bar boogie woogie blues!” Man, the power of Music, and the magic of the internet came together like a thunder clap.
Looking at the pic of Smudge and Moses, I could smell the incense, thick and jasmine-like, with a golden Buddha statue perched on the platform over them, and the room was lavishly decortated in silks, red, orange, yellow, and deep ocean blues–colors of India. Then to my amazement, the cats morphed into sand, and their images became the most perfect Tibetian tantra. All this from the musical clip. What a sweet way to start my day, and this week.
