Teach Me How to Love

I never had the answers, I thought no one could help
Doors would close everywhere I'd turn
You guided me to mercy, and you taught my spirit well
But maybe it's my heart that needs to learn
Teach me how to love, teach me how to love
I see you in your kindness, you shine a peaceful glow
Giving off a light that will protect
Your watchful eyes and the coming dawn
Let me feel compassion flow
And offer unconditional respect
Now I know by following your way
I can rise above
I will grow, unfolding every day
Teach me how to love, teach me how to love
I learn by observation, and it's you that I observe
Healing an invisible distress
Your watchful eyes and the setting sun
Let me see how I can serve
Giving so much more and taking less
Now I know by following your lead
I can rise above
You have said the healing starts with me
Teach me how to love, teach me how to love
I don't want to miss it, I don't want to leave
Now that I have found it, living in your light, I believe
I measure every moment by the moments you astound
Showing me the journey and the route
Your watchful eyes and the rising moon
Let me see the solid ground
And fly above the surface of my doubt
Now I know by following your path
I can rise above
I may cry, but then I'll learn to laugh
Teach me how to love
I don't want to miss it, I don't want to leave
Now that I have found it, living in your light, I believe
I know by following my heart
I can rise above
Now I see, the new life I can start
You taught me how to love, you showed me how to love
You healed me with your love, you taught me how to love
