Mistaken identity
Neither muddy nor hot, these two.
Gee, do you think the metal one in my yard has any idea what’s behind it??
Off to Seattle today to hear dear friend Larry Karush perform his magical and truly unique music, and then down to my home away from home, SeaTac, to fly to Denver. I’ll be moderating and speaking on a panel about the arts and technology for the enormous National Performing Arts Convention, where I’ll spend four days surrounded by other equally [if, uh, delightfully] insane artist comrades in search of inspiration, enlightenment, professional schmoozing and free wine. It’s open to the public, so if you happen to be in Denver, come join us! Just leave some wine for the rest of us.
Back Sunday night, at which point the e-kelpfest shall resume!

What is it they say….a buck in the yard is worth two in the bush? The Shapiro Wildlife Preserve is always prowling with critters. This is a beautiful shot of a creature who looks right at you without fear. That wonderful juxtaposition of the manmade and the real deal is the perfect symmetry that seems to surround you much of the time, the kind of pic that LIFE magazine used to print on its back page. Perhaps the buck was curious as to the strain of midget deer that he has come upon on your place. I am surprised he did not pee on it to show his dominance.
Love your musical clip, HOT MUD @ 1:50; great jazz moments. The link does not lead to any level of explication. At first I hoped it was a clip played by Larry Karush. You will see the fellow blogger Doug Palmer at the concert tonight. He will be the one clapping loudly for Larry, and waving at you like a prom king. I have a meeting for the Tacoma Film Club tonight, on top of being a South Sound old poop, so I will miss it.
Do good in Denver, have fun, drink wine, schmooze, charge up your creativity (if that is possible), and of course, report to the faithful kelphisitos that await your return, one of many, with shiny faces, shining eyes, arms open with welcome home hugs, and like that. One consolation for your considerable traveling is coming home, flying in, or cruising into your island paradise. It always gives you a heart jolt and spiritual lift, which you pass on to us. Thanks. Bon voyage.
